Process Control In Spinning :-
( PART-1)
The Scope of process of spinning becomes clear the moment we consider the function of spinning department.
The spinning department is to produce yarn of Desired quality , in the Required quantity and at Minimum cost.
In order to produce the required quantity of yarn one has to estimate the warp and weft requirements of the loomshade and thereafter ensure that the required number of Machines is made available to produce this quantity.
However, the Twin objectives of minimising cost and meeting the quality requirement are mutually Independent.
Canonsidering first task of minimising the cost of Yarn, this has be achieved through minimising the raw material.
The raw material cost itself determined by the raw cotton cost and the amount of Yarn realized per kilogram of cotton consumed.
" Minimising cotton cost and maximizing yarn realisation." it is necessary to ensure that we are spun is of the desired quality.
" Wage cost depends upon labour productivity ", which in turn depends in a complex way on machine allocation, the frequency of machine stoppages and the package size.
The Other element of manufacturing cost that is "immediate relevance - except interest changes - is store cost."
The store cost is incurred mainly on machinery parts/spares and accessories such as bobbins , Travellers etc.
