Process Control In Spinning :-
( PART-2)
Element Of Cost. Contribution to cost(%)
Raw materials 62.09
Direct material 2.4
Stores 2.3
Wages and salaries 16.7
Power, Fuel, water 3.9
Depreciation 3.6
Interest 4.2
Others. 4.0
Total. 100.0
As can be seen from table, the store cost is, only 2% of the total manufacturing costs.
In this case of any other product , the need to control the quality of yarn stems out of need to satisfy the consumers requirement.
In this context, there are really speaking to consumers, that the spinner has to keep in mind -the weaver and user.
The weaver is essentially interested in the quality aspects of the yarn. that contribute to good weaving.
The fabric user's immediate concern is with the contribution of the yarn and to the comfort and to the aesthetic appeal of fabric ;
Although he looks for longivity, he has no means of assessing this for himself at the time of purchase.
In this case of defence and industrial fabrics the performance and quality of the yarns and Fabrics are primary Concern.
However, certain yarn and characteristics have been identified that contribute to the weavability and also to the appearance and performance of Yarns and fabrics ; Tenasity , extensibility , uniformity and freedom from faults like slubs , etc.
The fact that the condition of machinery affects almost all these yarn characteristics.
It is necessary to frequently examine the spinning machinery for faults that affects the quality and performance of the Yarn.
Such a direct control of machinery should be restored to wherever this is feasible, as this would save a lot of time and effort that would otherwise be expended on tracing these faults through yarn tests.
To illustrate :- Eccentric rollers on ring spinning frames are known to result in periodic irregularity in the yarn.
The presence of such a rollers can be
Detected Faster and with much less effort by the use of ecentric tester than by examination of spindle-wise spectograms of the yarn.
A System of a "machinery Audit" should therefore, be an integral part of any process Control Programme.
